Akron Dental Clinic is family-owned and operated dental office located in the center of Akron, CO. For over 20 years we have treated every patient as if they were family and in return we have gained a loyal and familiar patient base. In our office nobody should feel like a stranger and it is our staff's aim with every patient to build a long-lasting relationship. Our mission is to provide not only Akron, but Northeastern Colorado as a whole, with excellent dental care experience and promote overall health, starting with oral health. Meet the Dentist, Heather L. Wright D.D.S.
Committed to helping our patients achieve their oral hygiene and maintenance goals
Dr. Heather Wright was raised in Akron, CO and graduated from Akron High School. She then went on to graduate with honors from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2006 where she received her BA and DDS degrees. Dr. Wright continued her dental training completing a general practice residency at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. She worked diligently and was awarded the resident of the year award, then asked to return for a second year as chief resident for the program. After completing her training at Brooklyn Methodist, Dr. Wright worked in a private practice in New York City across from the United Nations where she had many unique experiences.
Dr. Wright is a third generation dentist and answered the call to serve the communities of Akron and Northeastern Colorado when her mother, Dr. Peggy Wright made the decision to retire. She is a certified Lumineers provider, trained in dental implant placement and restoration, and provides a full line of modern comprehensive dental care including esthetic tooth restoration and whitening.
Dr. Wright donates her time to lecture school children on the importance of oral hygiene with office and classroom visits, provides screening services for 9NewsHealthFair, and has provided her expertise on dental mission trips, including treating patients with no access to a dentist in Venezuela.
In her free time, Dr. Wright enjoys spending time with her husband Dan and three children, Ben, Clark, and Dean. She also enjoys gardening and trying new recipes in the kitchen. Dr. Wright is excited to be living in Colorado; serving the community she grew up in.
Our highly professional staff will be taking care of you every step of the way, from the time you walk to the desk to the time your appointment is finished we will do our best to make you comfortable. Our team consists of our front desk manager, our two hygienists, Dr. Wright, and her dental assistant. Each member of our team has great experience in the dental profession and has worked with the community for many years. One thing we are so proud of is that our team has been a constant throughout the years, so whenever you come back you will be greeted with familiar faces.
